Sharing Images
Once you’ve taken & enhanced you photo to create a finished image, you may want, instead of printing, to share with friends, families or colleagues. With the advent on the internet there is no easier way of sharing. There are a host of places on the internet that you can upload your images for viewing by any one you choose who has a computer & an internet connection.
Below is a list of the more common websites that offer this facility. Most are completely free to subscribe to. The only downside with the ‘free’ accounts are limited uploads…you are normally given a monthly cap in Mb. However, for a small charge you can open a premium account with limitless uploads.
Online photo sharing websites:
- Atpic
- BlueMelon
- Flickr
- Fotki
- Imageshack
- Imgur
- Interartcenter
- ipernity
- Jalbum
- Kodak EasyShare Gallery
- Mobile Me
- Panoramio
- Photobucket
- Phanfare
- Picasa
- Piczo
- SmugMug
- Snapfish
- Shutterfly
- Webshots
- Woophy
- Zooomr
All of the above have hyperlinks attached so just click on any that you want & you will be taken straight to the relevant website.
Some of the above integrate simple image adjustments such as sharpness, contrast, colour saturation, cropping etc which is fine for very basic adjustments if you’re in a hurry.
What I like about most of the above is the ability to create online ‘slideshows’ which you can save & email the webpage link to whoever you choose. This has the benefit of saving the viewer the hassle of signing in etc etc. Another offering which I feel is crucial is the ability to passwork protect all your online photos/ albums which allows those you give the login details to can access the photos. I currently take the match photos for my son’s football team (under eights) & appreciate knowing that the pictures I upload are not in the public domain.
